She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Metairie. She is survived by her children, William and Doris Shettles Lockerby of Amite, John and Bonnie Daussat Shettles of Hammond, Marvin and Vera Toney Shettles of Hammond, Edward and Cheryl Guidroz Daussat and Dennis Daussat all of Metairie; two sisters, Julie Bye of Denham Springs and Mickey Zimmerman of Port Allen; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Father Bill Blank officiating. Pallbearers were Kevin Hunt, Jon Bass II, E.J. Daussat, Darin Daussat, Ronnie Dubbison, and Kenny Dubbison. Honorary pallbearers were John Carlton, Jerry Carlton, Daniel Dubisson, Bruce Frizgerald, Jeff Smith, Gary Glade, Jody Ford, Leonard Dubussion Jr. and Dennis Daussat Jr. Entombment followed at Lakelawn Cemetery in Metairie. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Era-Leader, Franklinton, LA 02-19-2003 Bessie Lee Watson, Franklinton Bessie Lee Watson, 84, a resident of Franklinton, died Tuesday, February 11 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She is survived by three daughters, Rita Magee Hawthorne of Franklinton, Bess Lynette Cockrell of Houston, TX and Brenda Watson of Jackson of Slidell; six sons, Sylvester and Larry “Bron” or Houston, TX, Hilton of Atlanta, GA, Lawrence, Woodie and Gervis all of Franklinton; two sisters, Annie Pearl Crosley and Clara Mae Crowley of Franklinton; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Henry Clyde Watson of Franklinton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was at Crain and Sons Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service was held Friday, February 14 at 11 a.m. at Sweet Home Church of Christ Holiness with Elder Washington E. Drake and Rev. Terrence August officiating. She is survived by her husband, Tom Odom of Franklinton; a son Darrell Odom of San Antonio, TX; a brother, James C. Graves of Pioneer, CA; and three sisters, Jean Howell, Mary M. Butler, both of Wichita Falls, TX, and Lavanda Self of Ojai, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Z. and Alene Furr Graves; and a brother, John Thomas Graves. Visitation was at the Stateline United Pentecostal Church from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. W.L. Tullos officiating. Pallbearers were Tim Dillon, Anthony Odom, Brent Dillon, Waylon Dillon, Blake Dillon and Johathon Odom. Interment was in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Magee Williams of Franklinton; a daughter, Wyvonia W. Beachum of Detroit, Michigan; three sons, Michael (Tracy) Williams of Franklinton, Victor D. Williams and Larry Williams of Franklinton; six sisters, Sallie James of Detroit, Michigan, Mary (Harvey0 Echols of Tuskegee, AL, Simie Barrow, Essie Kirksey, Aquila (Otis) Coleman of Warren, Ohio and Dorothy Powell of Lafayette, AL; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brother-in-law, James (Ruth) Magee of Franklinton, Fessie Magee and Curtis Jackson, Sr. of Long Beach, CA; an aunt, Aritha Moss of Birmingham, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was at Crain and Sons Funeral Home on Monday, February 17 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. A funeral service was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Causey officiating. Interment was in the Sweet Home Cemetery.
