Died at her home on Feb. 4, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Dr. O.D. Thomas, three children, Thomas, a psychiatrist, Timothy, a pilot for TWA Airlines and Martha Brown, a registered nurse; three grandchildren; one brother, Cubic Stuart Simmons of Franklinton and a sister Beryl Crain of Denham Springs, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olive Stuart and Cubic C. Simmons. A religious service was held at 10:45 a.m. at the First Methodist Church in Thibodeaux on Monday, Feb. 7, 2000. Odell Garrett Odell Garrett, 68, a resident of Franklinton died at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington on Friday, February 4, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Garrett of Franklinton; three daughters, Marlena G. (Calvin) Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Bennie Garrett of Folsom, and Easter (Darrell) Walker of Independence; two sons, Wendell (Ruth) Garrett and Broderick Garett of Folsom, a sister, Eliza G. (Ted) Watson of Folsom; his God Mother, Annie W. Garrett Augustine of Folsom; aunts, Vinetta, Sylvia, Sybil, and Opal; uncles, Edward, Henry, and Herbert; seventeen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held Wednesday, February 9 at Crain and sons Funeral Home in Franklinton from 2 p.m. until 4.p.m. and then again at Midway Church of Christ from 5 p.m. until time for funeral services. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 9, at 7 p.m. at the church with Elder Leroy Divinity officiating. Burial followed in Folsom Community Cemetery. Betty Ingram Betty Ingram, age 64, and a resident of the Acy’s Creek Community, died at 4:45 p.m. on January 17 at Riverside Medical Center. Mrs. Ingram is survived by her husband, Herman Ingram of Franklinton. Also survived by ten children, Patrice Dykes, Janice Marie Jenkins, Ruby Bickham, Bo Gatlin, Stephen Ingram, Alvin Ingram, Alford Ingram, and Thomas Ingram, all of Franklinton; David Gatlin of Loranger and Mary Parsley of Bossier City. Also survived by three brothers, James Davis, Donald Davis and Gilbert Davis, all of Amite; three sisters, Vivian McIntrye of Lee Road, Linda Jenkins of Bush, Angela King of Independence; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Ingram, 2 grandsons, Stephen Brumfield and Ronnie Sellers; parents, James Robert Davis and Ruby Thompson Goss and a sister, Bobbie Fortenberry. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 PM until 10 PM Tuesday after 9 AM Wednesday. Funeral services were held at 2 PM Wednesday in the chapel with Elder George Stephens officiating. Pallbearers were Eric Ingram, Tony Bowman, Dale McIntyre, Scott Davis, Floyd Bennett, Joey Gatlin, Matt Gatlin and Charlie Jenkins. Burial was in Acy’s Creek Church Cemetery. Pamela Jean Johnson James Pamela Jean Johnson James, age 49, died on Saturday, January 15, 2000 at Riverside Medical Clinic. She was a resident of 1905 Mason Street in Franklinton, LA. She is survived by her husband, Bobby E. James Sr., of Franklinton, her father, Morris Charles Johnson Sr., of Columbia, LA, and a daughter, Kaela N. James of Franklinton. Also survived by 3 step-daughters, Beverly James, Cherly James, and Angela James of New Orleans, LA; a step-son, Bobby E. James Jr. of New Orleans; three sisters, Patricia Bradly of Lake Charles, LA, Barbara Canada of Columbia, LA, and Juanita Johnson of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Billy R. Johnson of Columbia and Morris Charles Johnson Jr., also of Columbia. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Willie Ralph Walters Willie Ralph Walters, 65, died February 6, in North Oaks Hospital in Hammond. He was a native of Franklinton and a resident of Holden at the time of his death. He is survived by one son, Ralph Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jacob Ballard of Holden; three brothers, Jewel of Wichita Falls, Texas, Bruce of Baton Rouge and Dale of Franklinton; two sisters, Betty Wallace of Arab, Ala; and Virginia Miller of Franklinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hezzie and Velma Miller Walthers; one brother, Claude Walters; and a sister, Hilda Roussell of Calhourn, Tenn. Funeral services were held February 9th at Geisler Funeral Home in Albany, LA with Woolery of Victory Baptist Church in Hammond officiating. Burial followed at St. James Baptist Church in Holden. Lillian Elaine Bullock Simmons Lillian Elaine Bullock Simmons, 81, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2000 at Our Lady of the Lake. She was a native of Wiggins, Mississippi and a resident of Baton Rouge. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John K. Simmons of Baton Rouge and native of Sheridan; one daughter and son-in-law, Tahnya and Nicholas Tremonte of Jackson, MS; two grandchildren, Victor Benjamin Tremonte of Fairfax, Virginia and Midshipman Anthony Nicholas Tremonte of Annapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. Bullock and Lora Oliver Bullock; and her brother, Edgar L. “Dick” Bullock. Visitation was held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and continued from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Funeral services were held at Rabenhorst East Chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. John Easter officiating followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Simmons-Lang Cemetery in Sheridan.
