She was a former resident of Franklinton. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville and a registered nurse with Southeast Louisiana Hospital. She is survived by her husband, William Sykes of Mandeville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey Jr. and Missy Bienvenu; John and Joyce Bienvenu of Franklinton; Paul and Stephanie Bienvenu; and Michael and Lynn Bienvenu of Denham Springs. Also survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Staci and Jim Ellzey, Emily Bienvenu of Franklinton and Kristen and Blandon Sorrell of Bogalusa; one brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Susan Shedd of Franklinton and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Annie Shedd. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 PM until 9 PM on Tuesday and after 8 AM Wednesday. Funeral services were held at 10 AM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Father Bill Blank, pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Franklinton, officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Ellzey, Jody Sumrall, Blandon Sorrel, Frank Nelson, Keith Fussell and Johnny Lane Fisher. Burial was in Ellis Cemetery. Debra Cronin Crifasi Debra Cronin Crifasi, 35, and a resident of Franklinton died at 10:43 AM on February 22 at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Mike Crifasi of Baton Rouge, one daughter, Kandace Cronin of Denham Springs, her mother, Ruth Furr of Thomas; five brothers, Jackie Cronin of Wyoming, Johnny Cronin and Billy Joe Cronin, both of Baton Rouge, Eddie Cronin of Denham Springs and Lindsey Cronin of Franklinton. Also survived by a sister, Theresa Norris of Wyoming. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home after 9 AM Thursday until 2 PM until the funeral service held in the Crain Funeral Home chapel. The Reverend Charles Reece officiated. Eloise Williams Seal Eloise Williams Seal, 77, a resident of Franklinton died at 6:15 AM on Tuesday, February 15, 2000. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church; she was owner/operator along with her husband of Seal Grocery for many years. She was the widow of George Norman Seal. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Larry Turnage of Franklinton; two grandchildren, Waylon Turnage and LaRissa Hembree, both of Franklinton; one brother and sister-in-law, George Kelly and Mary Williams of Amite; four great-grandchildren and a special nephew, Bruce Williams. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil and Bobby Williams. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 until 9 PM on Tuesday and after 8 AM Wednesday with a funeral service at 10 AM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Father Bill Bank, the Rev. Larry Archote and the Rev. Troy Varnado officiated. Pallbearers were J.W. Williams, Elias Williams, Ronald Seal, Lonnie Allen, Haze Whaley and John Seal. Burial was in the Seal Cemetery. Jennie Sawyer Jolet Jennie Sawyer Jolet, 68, and a resident of Franklinton, died at 6:35 PM Sunday, February 14, 2000, at her residence. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Oliver “Sonny” Jolet of Franklinton; one son, Louis Jolet of Vidor, TX; two daughters, Margaret Downey of Slidell, LA and Melanie Forbes of Franklinton; one brother, Arthur Sawyer of New Bedford, PA; three sisters, Katherine Sanchez of Lafayette, Gail Sawyer of Metairie, Peggy Felbinger of Illinois; Also survived by two special friends, Rosalee Dickerson and Iris Motichek; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grayson L. and Jane T. Intrieri Sawyer Sr,; three sisters, Teresa Johnson, Joy Lynn Heintz and Mary Intrieri and a brother, Grayson L. Sawyer Jr. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 5 PM until 9 PM Tuesday and after 9 AM Wednesday. A funeral service was held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 2:00 PM Wednesday. Irma Magee Robbins Irma Magee Robbins, 81, a resident of the Enon Community and longtime resident of Franklinton, died at 4:15 AM Tuesday, February 22. 2000 at Riverside Medical Center. She was a retired teacher and a devoted pastor’s wife, the widow of the Rev. Dr. A.W. Robbins and a member of Enon Baptist Church. She is survived by her three sons, Wayne Robbins of Monroe, LA; Dennis Robbins of Hahnville, LA, and Kent Robbins of Dickson, TN. Also survived by a sister, Glenna Perry of Enon and seven grandchildren. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 5 PM until 9 PM Wednesday and after 9 AM until 12 noon Thursday. A funeral service was held at Enon Baptist Church at 2 PM. With the Rev. Dr. Joe Baugh, the Rev. Karl Tingle, the Rev. Greg Carroll and the Rev. Jerry Barlow officiating. Bertha Jenkins Magee Bertha Jenkins Magee, 91, and a resident of the Pine Community, died at 11:50 AM on Tuesday, February 22. 2000 at the Riverside Medical Center. She was a retired lunchroom worker at the Pine School having served many years. She was a member of the Pine Missionary Baptist Church and the widow of Fred Magee. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, Fred S. and Grace Magee; Gilbert E. and Betty Magee; Jake and Bess Magee, all of Pine. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Wilmon H. Magee and an infant; three brothers, Calip Jenkins; Levi Jenkins and Murphy Jenkins and a sister, Pearly King. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6 PM until 10 PM, Wednesday and after 8 AM Thursday. A funeral service was held at 10 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Elder Clyde Cooper, Elder Richard Magee, Elder Ted Phillips and the Rev. Jessie Charpentier officiating. Pallbearers were Bobby Magee, Randy Spears, Billy Scalf, John Seals, Scottie Stogner, Clint White, Jamie Magee, Gary Stogner and Homer Jenkins. Burial was in the Pine Community Cemetery. Earnest J. Brecheen Earnest J. Brecheen, 51, and a resident of Franklinton, died early Saturday in an automobile accident in New Orleans. He was a journeyman for Hames Contracting in New Orleans and a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion and also served in the Merchant Marines and was a graduate of Independence High School. He is survived by his wife, Faye Sumrall Brecheen of Franklinton; two sons, Aston Brecheen of Franklinton and Damon Brecheen of Newport News, VA; two daughters, Amy Brecheen of Franklinton and Shonda Rogers of Ponchatoula; two step-sons, Shelton Hano of Amite and Dustin Hano of Franklinton. Also survived by his mother, Gladys Brecheen of Independence; two brothers, Edward Brecheen and Ray Brecheen, both of Independence; two sisters, Betty O’Brien of Killian and June Coats of Independence and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, W. Earnest Brecheen. Visitation was at the Crain Funeral Home from 5 PM until 11 PM Monday and after 9 AM Tuesday. A funeral service was held at the funeral home chapel at 2 PM Tuesday with the Rev. Denny Brumfield officiating. Burial was in the Magee Cemetery at Lawrence Creek. Hilda Crowe Creel Hilda Crowe Creel, 85, a resident of Franklinton died at 11 p.m. Friday at the Riverside Medical Center. She was the widow of Ottis Creel and a member of the Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist church. Mrs. Creel is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Russell and Becky Creel of Franklinton; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Donald Daniel also of Franklinton; five grandchildren and spouses, Ron Pope, Chris Pope, Benny Creel, Claudine and Steve Stewart, and Rusty and Johnna Creel; and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents Bolivar and Martha Passman Crowe and brothers Frank Crowe and Willie Crowe and sisters Madrid Crowe and Ruby Foil. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Richard Magee, Rev. Karl Tingle and Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial followed in Acy’s Creek Church Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were W.C. Creel, Benny Creel, Rusty Creel, Ron Pope, Chris Pope, and Steve Stewart. Clarence A. Reeves Clarence A. Reeves, 87, a resident of Franklinton died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at Riverside Medical Center. He was a retired maintenance man with the State of Louisiana and worked for many years at Fountainbleau State Park in Mandeville. He was also a retired farmer. Mr. Reeves is survived by one son, Clarence A. Reeves, Jr. of Franklinton; four daughters, Lillian Barber of Franklinton, Mrs. Nathan (Alma) Morgan, Louise Meyn all of Amite; Mrs. Michael (Susie) Varnado of Mt. Hermon; eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie Dunn Reeves. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. from 9 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Ted Phillips officiating. Burial followed in Sharp Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons, Travis Morgan, Wade Meyn, George Varnado, Jake Reeves, Dennis Barber, and Roger Barber.
