He is survived by four sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Johnny Squyres, Marnie and Bill Dove, Cathy and Mike Scott, all of Baton Rouge, and Maida and Larry Smith of Glenmora, LA. Also survived by two brothers, Merrick Thompson of Lafayette and Grant Thompson of Duson, LA; and two nieces, Kathy Robinson of Aurora, Co and Robin Cook of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Fred and Josie Magee and maternal grandparents, Dr. J.B. and Elmira Bush Thompson. Crain Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was on Wednesday, April 12 from noon to 3:00 p.m. with funeral services at 3:00 p.m. in the Crain Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Ed Jenkins officiating. Pallbearers were Hollis Adams, Chris Merritt, David Graves, Russell Adams, Jerron Fitzmorris and Mike Phelps. Burial was in the Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jestina Wilson Jestina Wilson, 75, died Saturday, april 8, 2000 at Memorial Medical Center in New Orleans. She was a resident of Ferncrest Manor Nursing in in New Orleans and a former resident and native of Franklinton. She is survived by one son, Victor Wilson of New Orleans; one sister, Elnora B. Smith of Franklinton; two brothers, Nathaniel “Sock” Burton of Franklinton and William Burton of New Orleans; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Sunday, April 16 in Franklinton from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Monday, April 17 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness with Elder Raymond Dyson officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Janie Mae Dawson Williams Janie Mae Dawson Williams, 50, died Thursday, April 6, 2000 at her residence. She was a resident and native of Franklinton. She is survived by two sons, Byron Williams of Magnolia, Mississippi and Terence “Tocha” Dawson of Franklinton; four sisters, Daisy Dyson of Youngston, Ohio, Yvonne (Rudolph) Harvey of Fresno, California, Eleanor Magee of Cleveland, Ohio, Carol (Gordon) Cotton of Franklinton; two brothers, Ledger (Geraldine) Dawson of Franklinton and Gary (Emma) Dawson of Macedonia, Ohio; five grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Nell Dawson of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephesws; other relatives, and many, many friends. Visitation was held Friday, April 14, at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a family hour from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 15 at 12 noon at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness with Elder Raymond Dyson officiating. Burial followed in Bethel Cemetery.
