He as a former resident of Fort Worth, Texas and a long time resident of Richardson. Mr. Brickey proudly served in the United States Air Force/Chaplain Corp. during the Korean conflict. He was a Aerospace Design Engineer with Lockheed Martin for 32 years moving to Richardson shortly after his retirement in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Martha Breitling Brickey; their children, Anne Brickey, David Brickey, Carolyn Toney and Chris Toney; his sister, Fern Fraley of Isonville, Ky. And his brother William V. Brickey of Ashland, KY. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 6, at the Fisher United Methodist Church in Richardson at 1 p.m. with Rev. Charles Floyd officiating. He is preceded in death by his parents. Clarence V. and Lizzie Cathern Brickey. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Fisher United Methodist Church Building fund or to the American Cancer society. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Vero Bell Vero Bell, age 77, a resident of the Bell Crawford Road, Franklinton, died on Wednesday, April 19, 2000 at Riverside Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Dean Bell of Franklinton, six daughters, Brenda (Felton) Washington; Jerri (Nathaniel) Thomas, Sharon Bell and Kathy Bell of Seattle, WA; Cheryln (Alfred) Partman of Franklinton and Lori Bell of Baton Rouge, LA. Also survived by three sons, Larry (Ernestein) Bell of Gulfport, MS; Billy Bell of New Haven, CA, and Ronald Carl Bell of Franklinton; three brothers, Charles Bell of Franklinton, Oliver Bell and Lester Bell of New Orleans and an adopted sister, Evelyn Stephens of Franklinton. Also 11 grandchildren, Patrick Washington, Chiquita (Greg) Ardoin, Nicholas Bell, Jermaine Thomas, Shawna Washington, Gary Bell, Terrence Partman, Torrence Partmenm Felicia (Barry) Mingo, Germaine Thompson and Aaron (Malika) Washington; 9 great-grandchildren, Amber Sims, Shanita Harvell, Mikolee Ardoin, Zachary Washington, Yves Washington, Ciara Bell, Meisha Thompson, Tavion Partman and DeMaro Mingo and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was on Sunday, April 23 from 3:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. with family hour from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service was conducted on Monday, April 24 at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness with Elder Raymond Dyson officiating. Crain and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Joel Y. Stevens Joel Y. Stevens, age 69, a native and resident of Franklinton, and former resident of Dallas, TX and Jacksonville, FL, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at his residence. He was a journeyman sign painter and a U.S. Navy veteran He is survived by three sons, Joel Michael Stevens, Joey Lon Stevens and Bruce Everett Stevens, all of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Hayward Steven of Port Arthur, TX and five sisters, Lillie Waltman of Birmingham, AL; Ruby Walters of Searcy, AR; Alyne Winfrey of Franklinton; Jo Tibbetts of Montgromery, TX and Gladyl Estess of Tylertown, MS, and seven grandchildren. A family graveside service was held on Saturday at the Ellis Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Gene Richards officiating. Crain Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Carolyn Ann Brumfield Carolyn Ann Brumfield, 40, a native of Kentwood, LA, abnd a resident of New Orleans, died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at Jefferson Health Care in Jefferson, LA. She is survived by one sister, Audrey Lee Smith of New Orleans; six brothers, Kenny Brumfield, Victor Brumfield Jr., Ellis Brumfield, Paul Edwin Brumfield, all of Kentwood; Louis Brumfield of New Orleans and Oscar “J.O.” Bickham of Franklinton. Visitation was held of Friday, April 21 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 22 at 3:00 p.m. at the Tangipahoa Baptist Church in Oskya, MS, with the Reverend Ellis Hughes officiating. Crain and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Interment was in the Tangipahoa Cemetery in Osyka.
