She was a December 2000 graduate Magna Cum Laude of Southeastern Louisiana University in Kinesiology and a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Martha and Ben Jones of Franklinton; her sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Karl Bledsole of Shreveport and her grandmother, Jessie F. Erwin of Franklinton. She was preceded in death by her father Charles R. Montgomery. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday. Visitation was after 8 a.m. Friday. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jerry Barlow, Rev. Karl Tingle, and Rev. Rick Wood officiating. Burial followed in the Fisher Cemetery. Family prefers donations to Charles Montgomery Scholarship Fund of First Baptist Church. Active Pallbearers were Brian Knight, Robert Powell, Pat King Chad Spencer, Virgie Murrary, and Neil Fowler. Honorary Pallbearers were Bowling Green Class of 1996. Howard Stafford, New Orleans Howard Stafford, 91, a native of Franklinton and longtime resident of New Orleans died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at Heritage Manor in Franklinton. He was a retired mechanic, and employee of Reagan Equipment Company in Harvey and also Tarver Tractor Company in Folsom. He was a member and deacon of the New Hope Baptist Church near Folsom and a member of the Franklinton Masonic Lodge #101. He is survived by his wife, Ida Lea Stafford of Franklinton; one daughter, Dorothy Hebert of River Ridge; two grandchildren, Marc Hebert and Maury Hebert; one great-grandchild, Marc Christopher Hebert. Jr.; three brothers, Wallace Stafford of Kentwood, Walter Stafford, and Fitzhugh Stafford both of Franklinton; two sisters, Lexie Jones of Franklinton, and Eloise Sellers of Bogalusa. Visitation was held at the Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton after noon Tuesday until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tim Gay and Rev. John Gilbert officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery near Folsom. Ritchie Martin, Sr., Franklinton Ritchie Martin, Sr., 46, a resident of Franklinton passed away at 10:35 a.m. Monday at Riverside Medical Center. He was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Veronica J. Smith Martin of Franklinton; his mother, Vernell Martin of Franklinton; nine children, Ritchie Lane Martin, Jr., Angela Rowell, Michelle, Regina and Jim Smith, Brandon Pierre, Dustin, Stephanie, and Travis Hughes; and four grandchildren, Abigayle Barber, Cheyanne Smith, Andrew Jenkins, and Christian Duncan. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Martin and a brother Rodney J. Martin. Visitation was held at Crain funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Charles Abby and Rev. David Hedden officiating. Burial followed in the Magee Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Jimmy, Dale, Randy, Greg, Gary, Jo Wayne, Roger, and Richard. Honorary pallbearers for the service were Pat, John, Dean, Ted, and Dwight. Patty Lou Acton Bickham, Franklinton Patty Lou Acton Bickha, 84, a resident of Franklinton died at 3 a.m. Friday at North Shore Regional Medical Center in Slidell. She was the widow of Abner c. Bickham and a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by one daughter, Patty Bickham Edgar of Carbondale, Co.; two grandchildren, Frank Jay Grayson, III, and Troy Anne Edgar; two great- grandchildren; and dear friends, Thomas and Lisa Polkey of Franklinton; also several nieces and nephews including Pat and Elaine Smith. She was preceded in death by a sister Edith Rongey and a brother, John Richard Acton. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday and continued after 12 p.m. Sunday. An Eastern Star Services was held at 7 p.m. Saturday with a funeral service at 2 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed in the Ellis Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were Keith Polkey, Jeff Smith, Donnie Smith, Kyle Smith, Bary Kennedy, and Dlain Bickham. Catha Mae Magee, Baton Rouge Catha Mae Magee, 89, a retired nurse and a former resident of Franklinton, she died at 1 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at The Guest House, Baton Rouge. She was a native of Washington Parish and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Franklinton. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, from 11 a.m. until memorial services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Dr. Jerry Barlow and Rev. Karl Tingle. She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Ellis C. and Joyce Magee, of Baton Rouge; four nieces, Mona Magee Mulina of Baton Rouge, Janet Fabre Smith of Metairie, Marsha Magee O’Brien of Charlotte, N.C., and Melanie Magee Dixon of Baton Rouge; and a nephew, Steven R. Magee of Carrollton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve Ellis and Leona Thiley Magee; step-mother, Florence Magee; and two brothers, Shelby Marshall Magee and Robbie Lee Magee.
