It should probably be 6 Sep 2000-cw] Carl L. Daniel Carl L. Daniel, Age 80 and a resident of Franklinton, died at 2:30 PM Tuesday, August 29, 2000 at his son’s residence. He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by three sons, John Louis Daniel and Larry Gene Daniel, both of Franklinton, and Jimmie Carl Daniel of Franklin, LA. Also survived by one sister, Margaret Mixon of Atlanta, GA, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 5 PM until 9 PM Wednesday and after 8 AM Thursday. A funeral services was held at 10:00 AM Thursday in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry McCain and the Rev. Rick Wood officiating. Pallbearers were Jeff Daniel, Gilbert Spears, Jimmie Daniel II, Greg Ibert, Mike Daniel and Johnnie Daniel Jr. Burial was in the Bankston Cemetery at Mt. Hermon. Robert C. Johnson Robert C. Johnson, age 73, and a resident of Pine, LA, died at 1:40 PM Sunday, August 27 at Riverside Medical Center in Franklinton. He was a retied accountant and business consultant. Johnson is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Oalmann Johnson of Pine; one son, Don Johnson of Bogalusa; two daughters, Elizabeth Adkin of Enon, LA, and Andrea Lake of Washington State. Also survived by two granddaughters and one grandson. Crain Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Frank Thomas Nelson Frank Thomas Nelson, 57, a native of Tallahassee, FL, and longtime resident of the Clifton Community, died on Thursday, August 31 at Veterans Hospital in Biloxi, MS. He is survived by his wife, Sara Bateman Nelson, of Clifton, a daughter and son-in-law, Hilaria Nelson Broadwater and Chris Broadwater of Hammond; his mother, Ruby Grace McVay of Green Acres, WA, and mother-in-law, Earlane Bateman of Clifton and other relatives. Visitation was held on Saturday, September 2 at Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton. Family hours was from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m. and public visitation from 6-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. A funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 in the afternoon, with burial following in Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton. Mr. Nelson’s death came as the Era-Leader went to press early due to the Monday holiday. He was a special friend of our staff. A complete obituary will be published in next week’s newspaper.
