He was retired plant superintendent with Southern Natural Gas Corp. with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Franklinton First Baptist Church. Mr. Hoover is survived by his wife, Bernell Fletcher Hoover of Franklinton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rex M and Bakery Hoover of Lacombe, Dr. B. Carroll and Kathleen Hoover of Slidell, and Barry A. and Linda Hoover of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Laura H. and Bradley W. Miller, Kristen E. Hoover, Brian C. Hoover, Brandon A. Hoover, Justin M. Hoover, and Melinda A. Hoover; his mother, Addie Hitt Hoover of Swartz, LA; two sisters, Barbara of Waveland, and Betty H. Brewer of Tallulah; and one brother, Bill Hoover of Monroe. His father, Luther Hoover, preceded him in death. Visitation was held at the Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Karl Tingle officiating. Active pallbearers for the service were Ernie Bradshaw, Davis Bradshaw, Jeff Brown, John Stevens, Tommy Barringer, and Rick McGenis. Honorary pallbearers for the service were all employees of Southern Natural Gas.
