All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ ** 07-29-1949 Henry Rogers Funeral Friday Funeral Services were conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Nobles Cemetery near Pine for Henry G. Rogers, 44-year-old former Bogalusan, whose body arrived here aboard the Rebel on Thursday night. Mr. Rogers was electrocuted Tuesday at Port Lavaca, Tex., when he attempted to operate an electric jigsaw machine while working on wet ground. Mr. Rogers had worked for the Gaylord Container Corporation before moving to Texas about three weeks ago. The Rev. Buck Thomas officiated at the funeral services, which were followed by interment in Nobles Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Martin Rogers of Port Lavaca; three stepsons, Robert H. Magee, James A. Magee and Mack H. Magee, all of Pine community; four brothers, Emeria, Modez, John and Locia Rogers, all of Pine; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Garner and Mrs. Nettie Baughman, both of Pine.
