She was a native of Franklinton. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ken Carroll. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by a son, Dr. Douglas R. Kemp, of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Susan Kemp and Steven Kemp; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashland Schmidt and Robert Andrew Schmidt. Pallbearers will be David Garrett, Phillip Garrett, Stewart Stigall, Dr. Cecil Bankston Jr., Dr. Tommy Stigall and James Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers are Jesse H. Bankston, Steven Kemp and John Williamson. Preceded in death by her husband, Doyle A. Kemp; parents, Dan and Rose Lee Brumfield Garrett; two sons, Ronnie Wayne Kemp and Barry Kay Kemp; two brothers, Donnie and Herman Garrett; and a sister, Yvonne Bankston. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star Baton Rouge Chapter and Broadmoor United Methodist Church.
