We regret the passing of Mr. John Miley on December 15. Mr. Miley 
was one of the oldest citizens of this section, having reach the
age of 82. He has been failing in health for some time. He will
be sadly missed by his host of relatives and friends. Funeral
services were held at his home December 16 and internment was in
the Miley cemetery nearby.

Note: He was actually 87 years old when he died. Miley cemetery 
is located on the Seven Mile Road which is 5 miles east of Pine,
Louisiana. Mr. John Harvey Miley was born on Februrary 19, 1858
near Amite, Louisiana to Josiah Miley 1834-1912 and Mary Adeline 
Bennett 1834-1879. His parents are buried in the Old Gerald 
Cemetery. Mr. John Miley was married to Martha Jane Carroll born 
June 6, 1861 and died June 22, 1926.
