Robert Blair Tonner Died October 2, 2001 10/04/01 DIAMNODHEAD, MS - Robert Blair Tonner, 79, a resident of Diamondhead, MS died Tuesday at his home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Tonner was a native of White Plains, NY. Mr. Tonner attended MS State University before serving in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. Until his retire to Diamondhead in 1978, he resided in Bogalusa and was President of Pearl River Farm Development Company. He also served as chairman of the Washington Parish Chapter of the American Red Cross and was a past president of the Rotary Club of Bogalusa. He was one of the founders of Pearl River Valley Country Club in Poplarville and later became active in the Diamondhead Men's Golf Association. He was a member of Diamondhead Community Church. He was the beloved husband of Jane Lee Rankin Tonner for 56 years. He is also survived by his daughters, Jane Wade and Kathy Roberts, both of Hattiesburg; his son, Sidney Tonner II of Santa Monica, CA; and his granddaughters, Scottie Wade and Lauren Roberts.He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Sidney Tonner I.A memorial service will be held at Diamondhead Community Church. She was born in Colorado Springs, CO on May 6, 1928. She lived in Denver since 1954 and moved to Bogalusa in the 1980's. She was a Bus Dispatcher for Public Schools for over 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed painting and arts and crafts. She married Richard J. Hudson in January, 1943. She is survived by her husband, Richard J. Hudson; two sons, Richard Hudson and Darrell Hudson; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
