All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ ** 07-29-1949 Ross Applewhite died Wednesday Funeral services will be conducted today at 4 p.m. for Ross Applewhite, 59, who died Wednesday in the Veterans hospital in New Orleans after a lingering illness. Mr. Applewhite was a veteran of World War I, and a long-time resident of Bogalusa. The funeral will be held at the Second Baptist church with the Rev. D. W. Nix officiating. Interment will be in Ponemah Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Evelyn Reid Applewhite; two sons, Vernon and Billy Applewhite; two daughters, Gladys and Murel Applewhite; four brothers, Walter, Johnny, Vince and Lawton Applewhite; three sisters, Mrs. Tero Keaton, Misses Lucille and Olo Applewhite, all of Bogalusa.
