Richardson Stephen L. Richardson, age 66, died at 2:45 p.m. December 31, 1999 at St. Tammany Hospital in Covington, LA. He was a longtime resident of Franklinton; a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a 1959 graduate of Louisiana Tech. He served on the Franklinton Board of Aldermen and was an active member for many years of the Franklinton Volunteer Fire Department serving as Asst. Chief and also Chief. He was retired as maintenance superintendent of Riverside Medical Center and also served on the original Board of Washington Hospital District I (Riverside). He was currently employed at Ace Hardware in Franklinton. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Stewart Richardson of Franklinton; a son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Stacey Richardson; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Kelvin McCain, all of Franklinton. Also four grandchildren, Stephen Lee McCain, Conner McCain, Mary Kate Richardson and Peyton Richardson. Survived also by one sister and brother-in-law, Otis and Joan R. Simmons of Kentwood, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Katherine Richardson and a sister, Anita (Mrs. Dick) Richardson. Visitation was at Crain Funeral Home from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and continued after 9:00 a.m. Monday at Centenary United Methodist Church until services at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Michael Simmons, nephew of Mr. Richardson, and the Rev. Charles Floyd Jr., Centenary pastor, officiated. Pallbearers were Lee McCain, Andy Magee, Will Magee, Scott Simmons, David Simmons, Matt Stewart. Honorary pallbearers, Men’s Class of Centenary Church.
