A native of Hackley, he was an owner and operator of a truck stop. He was a member of Osyka Baptist church and Rising Glory Masonic Lodge 0215 F&AM. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Sanders, Osyka; two sons, Robert Sanders, Baton Rouge, and James Sanders, Coosada, Ala.; brother, James Devon Sanders; nine grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae "Sis" Stewart Sanders; three brothers, William "Bill", Denver "Runt," and Fred "F.M." Sanders; and three sisters, Eva Sanders Prescott, Elva Sanders Covington and Nannie Bell Sanders McNabb. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m. at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood. The Rev. Pet Wilbanks will con- duct the service, and burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Kentwood.
