All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ ** 07-01-1949 Mrs. Kell buried here on Sunday Mrs. Stella Godbold Kell, 71, of Avenue C., died early Saturday morning in a New Orleans hospital after fie weeks of hospitalization. Mrs. Kell, the widow of the late Walter N. Kell, former Gaylord machinist, had lived in Bogalusa about 20 years and was an active member of the ESM Methodist church until she became ill about three months ago. Her condition grew worse until she was admitted to the New Orleans hospital. Prior to her death she had undergone several operations, the last of which was last Wednesday. She had been unconscious since Thursday afternoon. The deceased was born and reared in McComb, Miss., as a member of one of the oldest families in that region. She is survived by only one brother, Forest J. Godbold of Memphis, Tenn. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at the ESM Methodist church, with the pastor the Rev. Porter M. Caraway, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Russell McIntire and the Rev. A.C. Ingram. Interment was in Ponemah Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
