Spencer, 70, a resident of the Enon community died at 6:45 p.m. Friday at Heritage Manor in Franklinton. He was a retired transmission mechanic and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Spencer is survived by his wife, Betty whitehead Spencer of Enon; two daughters, Melissa S. Mizell and Constance Renee Daugherty both of Bogalusa; one son, Doyle E. Spencer of Bogalusa; three step-sons, Larry Lee, and Allen Ray Lee both of Folsom, and Charles Alvin Penton of Franklinton; a half- brother, J.L. Spencer of Bogalusa; and six grandchildren and tow step- grandchildren. Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial followed in the Spencer Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were J.L. Spencer, Ed Jarrell, Freddie Howell, Silas Mizell, Danny Gill, and Collin Spencer.
