He was a welder with Trinity Marine in Madisonville and a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Berry Burns Stringer of Franklinton; one son, Codie Austin Stringer of Bush; one daughter, Courtney Shantelle Stringer of Bush; his mother and step-father, Nelleen and Alonzo McKenzie of Franklinton; his step father-and step-mother; Tony and Melanie Forbes of Franklinton; his grandmother, Lillie Creel of Mt. Hermon; another step-mother, Juanita Stringer of Angie; four sisters, Angela Hyatt, and Jennifer Phelps both of Franklinton, Teresa Lee of Bogalusa and Paula Stringer of Angie. His father, Wilford “Butch” Stringer and grandparents, Woodrow and Elva Stringer, and Lena Forbes preceded him in death. Visitation was at the Crain Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 26 in the funeral home chapel with Eld. Burdette Thomas and Rev. Larry Archote officiating. Burial followed in the Duncan Cemetery at Tylertown.
