Mary Louise Booty Sylvest
(Died March 13, 2004)
FRANKLINTON   Mary Louise Booty Sylvest, 79, a resident of Franklinton, died at 7:15 a.m. yesterday at
her home. She was a member of Sunlight Baptist Church and served as a columnist for the Era-Leader
newspaper for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Francis D. Sylvest Sr. of Franklinton; three sons and daughters-in-
law, F.D. "Doug" Sylvest Jr. and John Edward and Pat Sylvest, all of Franklinton, and Howard Ray and
Debbie
Sylvest of Denham Springs; four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary S. and
Barry Pence and Carolyn S. Hughes, all of Franklinton, Beverly S. and William Mills of Lewisburg, TN,
and Carmen Louise and Henry
Welch of Baton Rouge; a sister, Edith Rushing of Kentwood; 11
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her mother-in-law, Arebelle Spinks Sylvest of Franklinton.
She was preceded in death by three grandsons, Barry Leroy Pence Jr., Mark Anthony Sylvest and John
Allen Donaldson Jr.; her parents, Howard Ray and Sybil Speed Booty; a
sister, Bessie Marie Clifton; and a brother, George R. Booty.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton today from 6-9
p.m. and tomorrow from 9 a.m. until the chapel funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Sammie Smith will
officiate and burial will follow in
Pilgrim Rest Cemetery.

Galilee and her husband William Mills of Lewisburg,TN are parents
of two infant sons William Charles MacArthur Mills II & III who preceeded Mary Sylvest in death.
Stephen Douglas Sylvest and Mark Anthony Sylvest were sons of F.Douglas Sylvest,Jr & Wanda Sue
Ferrington Sylvest. Mary Sylvest had a total of six grandsons who preceeded her in death not three."
