Mr. Tate is survived by his wife Barbara Tate of Franklinton; four daughters, Frankie (J.B.) Anders, Jr. of Folsom, Barbara (Gregg) Carr of Reidsville, GA, Kim Tate of Baton Rouge, and Sharon (Erskin) Burris of Bogalusa; two sons, Andre Tate of Franklinton, and Larry Paul (Tonya) Tate of Kaline, TX; four sisters, Ella Mae (Frank) Bolton of Bogalusa, Myrtle Lee Tate of Franklinton, Gloria Dean (Bob) McNeal of Cleveland, OH and Pauline Hart of New Orleans; three brothers, James (Mary) Tate of Franklinton, Willie Jay (Dorothy) Tate, and Nead (Catherine) Tate, Jr. of New Orleans; his mother, Audrey V. Tate Anthony of Franklinton; sixteen grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held Friday, October 24, 1997 at 1 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 25, 1997 at Union Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Frank Washington, Jr. Officiating. Burial followed at the Union Chapel Church Cemetery.
