Betty Jean Thomas born on February 1, 1944 to 
Mr. Edward Alexander and Mrs. Juanita Unknown Alexander 
departed this life on September 25, 1994. Preceded in death 
by her father, Brother MacArthur Alexander and a son David 
McGowan. She married Mr. Archie McGowan in 1961 and Benjamin 
Thomas in 1991. Survived by her husband, mother, mother in law 
Carrie Thomas; 4 daughters Deborah Peters, Betty Ann McGowan, 
Patricia McGowan and Barbara McGowan Owens {Carnell Owens}; two 
sons Archie Ray McGowan {Clarissa} and Tyrone McGowan {Seprina 
Beck}; 6 sisters Mrs. Elaine LEWIS {Mr. Charles LEWIS}, Mrs. 
Dora LEWIS {Mr. Ray Daniel LEWIS}, Mrs. Mamie PETERS {Mr. 
George PETERS}, Ms. Tammy ALEXANDER, Mrs. Emma DAVIS {Mr. Dennis 
DAVIS}, and Mrs. Joanna JOHNSON {Mr. Revernad Willie JOHNSON}; 
5 brothers Mr. James ALEXANDER, Mr. Willie Ray ALEXANDER, Mr. 
Edwin ALEXANDER, Mr. Donald Ray ALEXANDER and Mr. Larry ALEXANDER; 
11 grandsons Letonio, Thorinthus, DeMika, Derick, Deta, Rico, Romel, 
Ricardo, Tyrell, Davon and Vonshay; 7 granddaughters Chenay, Cheney, 
Charva, Ashley, Caneshia, Rekelia, and Kenyetta; also survived by a 
host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and a devoted friend Gloria 
Taylor. Interment in Sunlight Cemetery Sandy Hook Mississippi.
