Since then I have rec’d the enclosed letter from Perry and thinking you would be glad to see it, I enclose it. In fact the whole family will be more than glad to read it. So don’t be selfish with it and take good care of it. We expect soon to hear of other hard fought battles in the neighborhood of Alexandria and Washington. If so, Perry and John will boath be in the thickest, and may probably fall in the contest. Perry has written to his father and mother one day later. And Mr. Burnham also to Loucinda same date, 4th, they report the health of the boys good, except some have measles and Perry thinks Robt. Smith has typhoid fever. He is sent out to an old widow’s house to be treated and was better as you will see in Perry’s letter. Mr. B. reports John had come in was very well. Mrs. D. Murrell’s husband died last week of congestion of the lungs. All well at the plantation. Stephen Bothe has been verry sick, so has old Esq. John Crow. They are getting well, Betsy is not well, she still has that bad cough, but it is better, and may turn out to be Bronchitis or Asthma. Can’t you or Frank come over and stay awhile. We begin to want to see you and we think you might spend a little while here very pleasantly now as it is watermelon and peach time. Give my regards to all the family and particularly Frank. Miss Lou Boon was married to a Mr. Alford living at the Cross Road in Bossier Parish on yesterday. Yours as ever, Isaac Murrell This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/lafiles/ File size: 2.1 Kb
