I open Frank’s < Frances Eddins> letter to enclose one I have rec’d from Perry and John < Isaac Murrell’s Newphes> also have one dated the 18th ult. The left Camp Pickens or Manasas on the 18th, forward toward the Potomock. Perry thinks chances verry good for a big fight. I can’t find the last letter or I would also send it—I have one for his Alice (sweetheart) and must sent it to her first chance. She is at our River place and is going to get a school there—mother was not well on Tuesday. I have not heard form her since. The rest was well at the plantation— Frank looks sick. Sorry to see her look so pale. I hope you don’t look that way, and if you do you boath look like dirt eaters. Rebecca is better of her cough, but not well, and I really fear she many never get entirely well.
