Will you favour us by calling on Mssrs Campbells dry good men Market St. ML Hollewell, silk house Market St. Lane and Co Manufactory of clothing, Market St and next door to you Clark and Hesser, book sellers between Market and Chestnut on 4th and (somebody) and Henderson opposite you on Market Hat dealers and ask them to furnish you with another bill for us with a statement of our settlements which please forward us as early as possible by mail at Minden Louisiana. I cannot recollect the names of the different firms as they are, but I hope the description will be sufficient for you to find them with the Messrs Campbells aid. Some scoundrel, I suppose has claimed my trunk as his own and took it off for himself. Or it has been taken by error, and if the latter, I have a strong hope of getting it. And as there was a lady of my name stopping here at the time my trunk was missed, I have some thought it was sent away on the stage and her for her. Your early attention to this second bill will greatly oblige us. Isaac Murrell Mssers Smith Brothers P.S. We had about $1200 of goods burned on the steamer “Cherokee” at New York two weeks ago but we were lucky enough to have them insured.
