Both parties to this sad affair were men of families. The trouble grew out of a dispute about a negro, that both wanted to hire during the ensuing year. Mr. Burns was an old citizen of the parish and a worthy man and a good citizen, and we sincerely condole with his widow and children in their affliction. Of Mr. Harrison we know but little, but never heard of his being engaged in any other difficulty.
