Jerry Evans officiating. Burial followed in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill. Mr. Simpson died Wednesday, March 7, in the Magnolia Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Simpson was a native and lifelong resident of the Cypress Point, Lake Erling area. He was an employee of International paper Company for 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Taylor, Ark. He was highly respected by his co- workers and friends at church. He loved to fish and raised tomatoes. He is survived by one daughter, Norma Allen and husband, J.R. of Taylor, Ark.; a sister, Thelma H. Fisher of Shreveport, La.; two children, Teri Highes of Springhill and David Joe Wright and his wife, Dawanna of Taylor; and three great-grandchildren (sic, grandchildren), William Cole Hughes, Dallas Wright and Kelly Diane Wright. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Inez Weible Simpson in September 1995. Pallbearers were Donald Edwards, W.H. Harper, Mark Penick, Clay Beshea, Amos Stamper and Jim Bolton. Additional Comments: Norman married Mildred Inez WEIBLE on 17 Feb 1933 in Ouachita Parish LA and they had one daughter, Norma Grace SIMPSON.
