ANGELLE, SR, BOBBY RAY
A resident of Breaux Bridge, he died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, at Opelousas
General Hospital. He was 54. Visiting was at Pellerin Funeral Home, Breaux
Bridge, after 9 a.m. Saturday. Religious services at St. Bernard Catholic
Church, Breaux Bridge, at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery,
Cecilia. Survived by his wife, Mary Ann F. Angelle, Breaux Bridge; a son,
Bobby Ray Angelle Jr., Port Allen; a daughter, Angela Marie Angelle Jannise,
Opelousas; two brothers, Marcial Angelle Jr., Walker, and Joseph Castille,
Krotz Springs; two sisters, Barbara Guidroz and Shelly Dubroc, both of Port
Barre; and three grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Marcial
Angelle; and mother, Anna Lou Stelly Angelle. He was a member of 12-2
Hunting Club.

DANG, SR, SAU VAN
A welder and a resident of Donaldsonville, he died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday,
Dec. 23, 1999, in Baton Rouge. He was 43 and a native of Vietnam. Visiting
was at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and 8
a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension Catholic
Church at 10 a.m. Monday, celebrated by the Rev. Randy Cuevas. Interment in
Ascension Catholic Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Merry Gros Dang; three
daughters, Shariha Nugent, Addis, and Kim and Michelle Dang, both of
Donaldsonville; two sons, Tuan Dang, Baton Rouge, and Sau Van Dang Jr.,
Donaldsonville; three grandchildren, Khai Dang, Alex Dang and Ty Sean Dang;
and was the son-in-law of A.C. and Suzanne Gros and Lorraine Percle, all of
Donaldsonville. Preceded in death by his father.

REYNERSON, RONALD C. "RONNIE"
Owner and operator for more than 23 years of APPCO of Baton Rouge, formerly
known as Diamond Tool, he died Thursday, 23, 1999, at his residence in
Baker. He was 58. He was a veteran of the Cuban crisis and served in the
U.S. Navy. Visiting was at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, 3 p.m. to 9
p.m. Sunday. Recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday by members of Baker
Knights of Columbus Council No. 4085, with honor guard by Fourth Degree
Knights of Columbus Monsignor Gassler Assembly. Visiting at St. Isidore
Catholic Church, Baker, 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
Monday, celebrated by the Rev Fred Youngs. Burial in Hillcrest Memorial
Gardens, Baker. Survived by his wife, Terri Arseneault Reynerson, Baker;

SPRIGGS, BRENDA J.
An office manager at the Louisiana Department of Labor and a resident of
Brusly, she died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Medical
Center. She was 45 and a native of New Orleans. Visiting was at Antioch
Baptist Church, Lukeville Lane, Brusly, from 4 p.m. until religious services
at 7 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. James A. Terrance. Dismissal at 11
a.m. Tuesday. Interment in Antioch Cemetery. Survived by three daughters,
Jonetra, Kristi and Krystal; two sisters, Erma Javius and Odessa Cole; and
four brothers, Ernest, Otis, Eddie and Henry Spriggs. Preceded in death by
mother and father, Ernest and Edna Bynum Springs; a sister, Bertha Spriggs;
and two brothers, Lawrence and Charley Spriggs. Miller & Daughter Mortuary,

BREAUX, EMILY DUPUY "BITSY"
An assistant vice president at Bank One in Baton Rouge with 321/2 years of
service, she died at 11:57 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at her residence in
Brusly. She was 56 and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting was at Wilbert
Funeral Home, Plaquemine, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, with recitation of the
rosary at 7 p.m. led by Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Knights of
Columbus. Visiting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, 9 a.m.
until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev.
Eric Gyan. Interment in church cemetery. She is survived by her husband,
John A. Breaux, Brusly; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Kyle and Alice
Thibodeaux, Baton Rouge, and Ryan and Brad Fabre, both of Brusly; a stepson
and stepdaughter-in-law, Rowdy and Lisa Breaux, White Castle; two
stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Roxi and Todd Blanchard, Donaldsonville,
and Rhonda and Camille Landry, Bayou Goula; two sisters, Margaret "Deeda"
Daigle, Baton Rouge, and Shirley Landry, Brusly; her second husband, Clifton
F. Fabre Jr., Baton Rouge; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her first husband, Sanders Thibodeaux Jr.; a stepson, John Joseph Breaux;
and parents, Kenneth Alexander and Emily Emma Songy Dupuy. Pallbearers will
be Nolan Daigle Jr., Kim Thibodeaux, Alan Thibodeaux, Duane Babin, Daryl
Babin, Jason Manola and Joseph Monte. She was a member of Catholic Daughters
of the Americas Court 2079 St. John the Baptist, Brusly, and Financial
Woman's International. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial
donations be made to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Muscular Dystrophy
Association.

DEAN, BLOSSOM LEJUENE
A retired Sears department manager and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died
at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical
Center. She was 89 and a native of Brusly. Visiting was at Rabenhorst
Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m.
until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment in
Greenoaks Memorial Park. Survived by her husband, Edward J. Dean; two
daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Roger Mouisset and Delores and Clovis
Strickland; two sisters, Faye Budford and Eunice Branham; two brothers,
Edgar and Robert LeJuene; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and Altar Society.

RILEY, ALMA JACOB
A resident of Plaquemine and a native of Morrisonville, she died at 10 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Plaquemine Manor Nursing Home. She was 93.
Visiting at Roscoe Mortuary, 58635 Meriam St., Plaquemine, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday. Religious services were at Macedonia Baptist Church, Plaquemine,
the Rev. Larry Hood, pastor, at 8 p.m. Thursday, con-ducted by the Rev.
Thomas Bessix. Dismissal service was at the church at 10 a.m. Friday.
Interment in Nazarine Cemetery, Morrisonville. Survived by a brother, the
Rev. Emanuel Jacob Sr., Addis; a grandson, Albrady Lee, Phoenix; seven
nieces, Alneta J. Snearl, Ora M. Hines, Stella M. Snearl, Rose M. Rogers,
Laural A. Becnel, Shelia D. Young and Ida Nell Anderson, all of Plaquemine;
a nephew, Emanuel Jacob Jr., Port Allen; a first cousin, Doretha Stewart
Thompson, Plaquemine; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins,
other relatives and friends.

HARE, JACK H.
Former local resident Jack H. Hare, age 77, died on November 28, 1999 at
Kingwood Hospital in Houston, Tx. Memorial services were held December 1,
1999 at Rosewood Funeral Home and were attended by family and friends from
all over the country. Mr. Hare was born September 14, 1922 in Birmingham,
Alabama and lived in Port Allen for many years. He is survived by his wife
of ten years, Anna Patterson Hare, daughters Susan H. Langlois of Port
Allen, Peggy H. Gascon of Scottsdale, Arizona, and son Michael Hare of Port
Allen, grandchildren Christopher, Emily and Rebecca Langlois and Douglas,
Scott and Matt Gascon and Michael Grouskay: great-grandchildren Carly and
Shenae Gascon, Brenden Usie and Zachary Langlois: Step-children, Carol
Helton, Robin Parrish and Marshall Patterson as well as numerous
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives. He was preceded in
death by one stepchild, Dewyte Patterson in 1996.

GASPARD, MALCOLM JOSEPH 
Owner and operator of Gaspard's Television Service for more than 20 years
and an employee of the LSU Department of Biological and Agricultural
Engineering, he passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, at Baton Rouge General
Medical Center-Mid City. He was 63, a resident of Addis and a native of
Marksville. He served in the National Guard Unit of Marksville for 12 years.
Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel, 9595 Florida Blvd., 3 p.m.
until memorial services at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Joe
Steffus. Private interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by
three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Gaspard Sr. and Sue Gaspard of
Port Allen, Mark J. Gaspard of Fort Walton, Fla., and Matthew J. Gaspard of
Baton Rouge; his former wife, Rosemary Gaspard of Baton Rouge; seven
grandchildren and a great-grandchild; three brothers and two sisters-in-law,
Terrel and Margaret Gaspard, Roger and Joyce Gauthier and John J. Gaspard
Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Steven and Adene Gaspard; and his mother,
Maude G. Lambright, all of Marksville; an aunt, Sylman Gremillion; and
numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John
Joseph Gaspard Sr. He was a member of EAA.

GUERIN, CHARLES WILLIE
A retired diesel mechanic for Ethyl Corp with 20 years of service, he died
Tuesday morning, Dec. 28, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He
was 58 and a resident and native of Grosse Tete. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Visiting at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall, Grosse Tete, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting was at the
church from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial at the
church at 10 a.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Shelton Fabre. Interment
in St. Joseph Cemetery. Survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eve and
Pete Riviere, Port Allen, and Marietta and Buddy Easterly, Grosse Tete;
three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Edgar "Smoke" Guerin Jr., and J.C.
"Pnut" and Shirley Guerin, all of Gross Tete, and Bernard Guerin, Port
Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph
Edgar and Evelyn Bossier Guerin; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and
Charlene Booksh Guerin; and a niece, Mickey Guerin. He was a member of Da

TULLIA, BABETTE FOLSE "BOBBIE" 
A resident of Port Allen, she died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 1999, at
Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. She was 70 and a
native of Napoleonville. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, 5
p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. led by
Sister Emma Noel. Visiting was at the funeral home, 8 a.m. to 8:40 a.m.

HILL, LEVERDIE BERGERON
Leverdie Bergeron Hill, age 65, died on Monday, December 27, 1999 at Our
Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. Funeral services were held on
December 29, 1999 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with burial in the church
cemetery. Survivors include one son, Wayne J. Royer, Brusly; six daughters,
Linda Royer Aguillard, Celestine Royer Perrault both of Brusly, Kathy Royer
and Hellen Hill Holley both of Port Allen, Debra Royer of Grosse Tete, and
Patricia Hill Richard of Lafayette; her mother, Emethilde Cormier of Parks,
2 sisters, Louanna B. Pelezo of Florida, and Mercedes B. Champagne of Parks,
11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne was in

DESSELLE, LOUIS MERRICK
A retired carpenter and a resident of Port Allen, he died at 3:15 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He
was 81 and a native of Louisiana. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Visiting at

REEVES, WILLIAM J. "JOE" 
"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." (Psalms
116:15) A retired operator with Exxon with more than 33 years of service, a
resident of Holden and a former longtime resident of Baton Rouge, he died at
10:50 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at his home. He was a native of Jayess,
Miss. Visiting at First United Pentecostal Church, 2828 Jones Creek Road,
from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services
at the church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Curtis Young.
Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Sur-vived by his wife of 68 years,
Daisy Lee Reeves, Holden; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and the Rev.
Gerald J. Arceneaux, Holden; a son, Rod R. Reeves, Kenner; two sisters,
Clara Mae Mulkey, Natalbany, and Emily Davis, Albany; three brothers, Alburn
Reeves, Arkansas, Carl Reeves, Denham Springs, and Samuel Vernon Reeves, The

BLANCHARD, JR. JOSEPH CALWELL "MONKEY" 
A retired printer with Franklin Press with many years of service, he died at
10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical
Center, Baton Rouge, at age 84. He resided with his niece in Lottie, was a
former longtime resident of Grosse Tete and a native of Port Allen. Visiting
at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grosse Tete, 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian
Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday, celebrated by the Rev. Shelton Fabre. Interment
in church cemetery. Survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Adam Nix and
Ann LeBlanc Blanchard, Raceland; a niece and her husband, Marilynn Blanchard
and Dana Keowen, Lottie; a nephew and his wife, Tommy and Larry Mullen
Blanchard, Maringouin; other nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews,
great-great-nieces and nephews and many loving care givers. Preceded in
death by his wife, Mary Ethel Hobgood Blanchard; parents, Joseph "Claude"
Sr. and Stella Orilian Blanchard; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Lloyd

SKINNER, MINNIE ELSIE
She was a housewife and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
She was 77 and died Monday, January 3, 2000 at her home in Bismarck, AR. She
was born October 16, 1922 in Caney, AR., she was the daughter of the late
Luke and Alice Pearl Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Marion James "M.J." Skinner, one brother, Floyd Martin of Bismarck, one
sister, Nellie Etheridge of Mt. Pleasant, TX. Survivors include two sons,
James E. and his wife, Patsy Skinner of Denham Springs and David L. and his
wife, Pam Skinner of Bismarck; two brothers, Carroll "Jack" Martin and
Robert Martin both of Bismarck; three sisters, Coy Loy of Bismarck, Beluah
"Bea" Divine of Friendship and Adele Peterson of Benton and one grandson
Daniel Skinner of Port Allen as well as two other grandsons, two
granddaughters and a great granddaughter, also several nieces and newphews
and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. and Friday, January 7,
2000 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness at Caddo Valley. Interment was
in the Cancy Cemetery

A retired clothing and shoe buyer for Godchaux's Department Store, he died
at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at his residence in Port Allen. He was
91 and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port
Allen, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Visiting was at the funeral home from 8:30
a.m. to 10:40 a.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family
Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, celebrated by the Rev. Henry
Vavasseur. Entombment in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Mausoleum.
Survived by his wife, Therese Mabile Bourgoyne, Port Allen; a stepdaughter
and stepson-in-law, Loretta Haynes and James Soileau, Baker; two stepsons
and stepdaughters-in-law, C.J. and Ray F. Haynes, Zachary, and Ronnie and
Shirli W. Haynes, Midland, Mich.; a sister, Sadie B. Stablier, Baton Rouge;
and eight stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by his first wife, Annie
Thibodeaux Bourgoyne; parents, Eustache and Amanda Hebert Bourgoyne; two
sisters, Charice B. Fornier and Helena B. Bourgoyne; and two brothers,
August and Earl Bourgoyne.

CHUSTZ, IVY J.
A resident of Cornerstone Village South, Lafayette, for the past year, he
died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Lafayette General Medical
Center. Visitation was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lakeland,
from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Tuesday, celebrated
by the Rev. Matt Lorrain, pastor. Interment in Chenal Memorial Cemetery.
Survived by a daughter, Willie Mae and husband J.C. Graciana, Lafayette; a
son, Larry J. Chustz and wife Becky, Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; a brother, Murphy J. Chustz, Innis; and a sister, Rena
Aguillard, Greenwell Springs. Preceded in death by his wife, Gladys
Singleton Chustz; and three brothers, Dolsey, Wilson and Willie Chustz.
Pallbearers will be Jared Chustz, Chris, David and Bryan Graciana, his
grandsons, and nephews M.J. Chustz and Pierre Aguillard Jr. Until his
retirement, he owned and operated Ivy Chustz Grocery at Arbroth for many
years. He was also a school bus driver for 41 years for the West Baton Rouge
Parish school system. Niland's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

DESELL, CAMELLIA E. POCHE
A resident of White Hall, Md., she died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000. She was born

Dionne Marshall and Dilnell Dwayne Johnson, whom he helped to raise as his

Honorary Membership Program and life member of Prince Hall Grand Lodge,

A retired employee of Gulf States Utilities with more than 40 years of
service and a lifelong resident of Port Allen, she died at 12:45 p.m.
Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center after an
extended illness with cancer. She was 67, born May 9, 1932, in Baton Rouge.

grand regent of Court Our Lady of Victory No. 1351 of the Catholic Daughters
of the Americas and secretary of the Twilight Mixed Bowling League for many
years. She founded the Santa Apolonia Mission Club when her brother, the
Rev. David A. Vavasseur, went to Guatemala as a missionary. Memorial

A retired East Baton Rouge Parish School Board employee and a resident of
Baton Rouge, she died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Sterling
Place. She was 91 and a native of Pointe Coupee Parish. Visiting was at
Christ Baptist Church, Port Allen, from 9 a.m. Saturday until religious
services at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Phillip Joseph. Interment was
in the church cemetery. Survived by two godsons, Charles Courtney Jr. and
Clarence Hills; four nieces, Alma Young Woods, Beatrice Woods, Edna Mae
