He was 72, a resident of Port Allen and a native of Plaquemine. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, with recitation of the rosary. July 22, 1999 EMORY, MARIE EDRINGTON A resident of Maringouin, she died Saturday, July 10, 1999, in College Station, Texas, where she had lived with her daughter and son-in-law since 1997. She was born in Reserve on July 14, 1902, the sixth of 10 children of 28th District Judge and Mrs. Prentice Ellis Edrington Sr. She attended elementary school in Reserve and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in New Orleans in 1920. Her great-grandfather, Morris Price Edrington, was publisher of L'Observateur in Reserve in the early 1800s. She married Harold Homer Emory of Choudrant on Aug. 17, 1927, and in 1936, they made their home in Maringouin. He was a teacher and assistant principal of Shady Grove School. He died May 29, 1980. A lifelong Catholic, she received an apostolic blessing from Pope Paul VI in 1979 for her work with Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Maringouin. She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Emory Starr of College Station; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. "KIYI" Retired from Ethyl Corp., a resident of Bayou Corne and former longtime resident of Brusly, he died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, July 9, 1999, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 75 and a native of Plaquemine. He was a veteran of World War II and saw action in the Battle of the Bulge. Mass of Christian Burial was at St. John the Baptist Catholic, celebrated by the Rev. Eric Gyan. Interment in church cemetery. July 29, 1999 MORRIS, HAROLD EDWARD A retired farmer at Camp Stock Farm in Chamberlin, he died at 12:22 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 1999, at his home in Port Allen. He was 74 and a native of Wilmot, Ark. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Religious services were at St. Paul's Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, New Roads, conducted by the Rev. Miller Armstrong. Interment in False River Memorial Park, New Roads. Survived by his wife, Dorothy Stephens Morris, Port Allen; a daughter and son-in-law, Reba Gail and George Donachricha Jr., Port Allen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Dale Morris and Keith and Ronada Morris, all of Port Allen; an adopted son, Bobby Joe Bennett, Oscar; two sisters, Edna Mae Boyd, Oakdale, and M.R. BAKER, CORA MARIE Cora Marie Baker, 78, of Jennings died July 21, 19999 at 8:40 a.m. at her residence. She was born August 25, 1920 in Estherwood, Louisiana. She was a native of Estherwood and a resident of Jennings. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of American Court Mother Cabrini, Ladies Altar Society, Jennings American Legion Hospital "Pink Ladies" Auxiliary Member and more.
