   The Gloomy Shade Church is a Negro Missionary Baptist Church and is located 
about two miles West of Kilbourne, Louisiana on the Beouf River Road, and 
lying in Section 16, Township 23 North range ll East as shown in the following 
description taken from page 565 of Notarial Book "D".
   Two acres of land where the Gloomy Shade Church now stands, lands to be  
measured equal distance each way from the Church site and so as to  make a 
square North West 1/4 of North East of Section 16, Township 23, Range 11 East.
   The Paster of the above described Church is the Rev.----. From the 
information I was able to require from the people living in the above section 
and range and living within a  mile or so of the Gloomy Shade Church but none 
of them knew anything of the Gloomy Shade Church in the above description, I 
am unable to obtain any information at all on the Gloomy Shade Church.
