All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm *********************************************** SURVEY OF POVERTY POINT PLANTATION Pursnant by the request of PHILIP GUIER, I proceeded on the 18 day of Feby AD 1860 to make a suvey of a line beginning at a point on the West bank of Bayou Macon and running due West so as to divide equally the following tract of land as shown in the above plat, to wit: All that portion of section 13 lying West of Bayou Macon, Sec. 14 E 1/2 of sec 15 NE 1/4 sec 22, N.W. 1/4 sec 23 - containing in the aggregate 1383.23/100 acres situate and being in T. 19 N. R. 10 E Dist. North of Red River La commencing at a point on the West or right Bank of Bayou Macon where the dividing line of sections 14 and 23 strikes it and thence up said Bayou to wit: N 34 degrees E 5 chains 10 links, thence N 36 degrees 45 minuets E 4 chains 50 links, thence N 42 degrees 30 minutes E 6 chains 00 links thence N 47 degrees 30 E 3 chains 50 links, thence N 57 degrees E 7 chains 10 links; thence N 38 degrees 45 minutes E 5 chains 50 links thence North 23 degrees E 5 chains 77 links. Set w stake; Thence West 143 chains 87 links to the back line of the tract; thence South 68 chains 09 links, thence E 80 chains 00 links; thence North 40 chains 00 links thence East 40 chains 00 links to the point of beggining - containing 691.61 acres - being the South half of the said tract of land as described and shown in the accompanying plat, having such shape and form as shown in plat both artificial and natural.
