All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** West Carroll Gazette - Thursday June 22, 1972 Long-time FHA employee retires Mrs. Ruby Rinehart, long-time clerical employee of the Farmer Home Administration Office will retire effective Friday after 30 years of service in the FHA. Mrs. Rinehart said she began work in the local FHA office in 1942 when it was called the Farmers Security Administration and was located in the West Carroll National Bank Building. In 1953 - 54 she worked in the Tensas FHA office and in the East Carroll office in 1955. She moved back to Oak Grove in 1956. In looking back over the changes in the type FHA loans during the years Mrs. Rinehart said she has seen it move from a mule operation in one of complete mechanization in farming. She said the average farm loan when she began to work with the agency was $500 and that now it goes into the thousands. She pointed out that when she first started, only operating loans were available and now said there are 26 different types. Fellow workers and their family and those who had worked with her previously honored Mrs. Rinehart with a retirement supper at White’s Fish House Tuesday night.
