Mobley http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00028.html#0006760 July 25, 2010, 12:50 pm Told by Mary Fortberry Nott "The O'Neal boys, Brunett, Harold, and Clem(Huey was younder , Louise Jones, and her cousin Elson Jones, the Helm's brothers, Eugene and Jesse Lee,, and the Posey families. Annie Mae Torrence (the famous Torrence's sister) lived on Bayou Macon, and in winter they could not get out in bad weather, so she stayed at our house during the winter months to go to school. Doris Sneed also lived on the Macon. Later there were some from further up the road--the Peterson's and others especially went to school on the bus with me, starting 6th grade. I once sat down and made a diagram of the roads that formed a square and put all the names of houses down that were there "back when." From Oak Grove the road went north to Helms Lane, and then east where it intersected with Macon Front Road (at the "crossroads") at that point it went south in front of our house and continued South where it intersected with the Lake Providence Hwy, then west to Oak Grove.
