Almand, principal of Forest High School for the past 14 years, has resigned t enter a form of the state welfare work, according to an announcement this week by Superintndent of Schools, O.E. Huey. "His work will have t do particularly with the blind students of north Louisiana." Mr. Huey said. His headquarters will be in Shreve- port. It was also announced by Mr. Huey that J.W. Alsbrooks, who for the past nine years has served as principal of the old Fiske-Union school, and the new Fiske-Union school, has been appointed principal of the Forest School, replacing Mr. Almand. Mr. Alsbrooks is a graduate of Louisiana Tech, Ruston, and has practically completed his work for a master's degree at Louisiana State University. Mr. Huey stated that he is well trained and has been very successful in developing a fine school at Fiske-Union. Clinton Head, who has served as principal of rural schools and as a teacher in the Kilbourne High school for the past 10 years, has been appointed to take Mr. Alsbrooks' place as principal of the Fiske- Union school. He is a graduate of Louisiana Tech. "We believe both of these men will make a success in their new positions," Mr. Huey said.
