Dollerhide, a Notary Public, within and for the Parish and State aforesaid,Edwin B. Jackson, age 75 years a resident of the parish in the State of Lousiana, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that his is the identical Edwin B. Jackson, who was a soldier in the Company commanded by Captain P.M Gogin in the 7th Regiment Virginia Militia commanded by Col. Saunders in the war with Great Britian Declared by the United States ib the 18th day of June 1812 that he was drafted at Prince Edward Court House on or about the 10th day of August A.D. 1814 for the term of 6 months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of 6 months and was honorably discharged at Norfolk Virginia on the 20th day of February A.D. 1815 that he lost 18 days on account of disability and being cripped as will appear by the muster rolls of said Company. His certificate being lost or misplaced as set forth in his former declaration of March 23, 1852. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the "act granting additional land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States", approved March 3, 1855. And refers to his former declaration under act of March 22, 1852 upon which he obtained a Land Warrant No, 1581, for 80 acresm which he having legally transferred and disposed of, is not within his power now to return. He further declares that he has not received a warratn for bounty land under any other act of Congress, nor made any application therefor, that the one above referred to under act of March 22, 1852, upon which he obtained the said Land Warrant, No. 1581, for 80 acres, and the one now presented. Sworn to and subscribed before me the day and year above written, and I hereby certify that I believe the said Edwin Boyd Jackson who signed and exceuted the above declaration, and is now present, to be the identical man who served as aforesaid, and that he is of the age above stated, and that I have no interest in said claim.
