It also circulates in Franklin and adjoining parishes. It was published in the town of Floyd, La., a weekly newspaper. July 18, 1860 R.H. Wyly drowned at Jackson Ferry on Bayou Macon. He came to Carroll Parish to study law. A road from Goodrich Landing to Jackson Ferry to be good and sub- stantial. Log bridges over Joe's Bayou and Tensas are made out of overcup oak timber. Col. N.D. Coleman residing in Carroll Parish. A bridge on the Arkansas Road is known as Coleman Bridge, a bridge near Floyd is known as Millikin Bridge. August 12, 1860 Died: Lula M., daughter of T.S. and M.A. Mabin, aged 13 years 7 months How the heart with sorrow beats as the knell of departed youth is tolled. Dec. 11, 1875 Died at his residence in this parish Nov. 27, 1875, of chronic dysentery, Col. B.M. Browder in the 63rd. year of his age. Dec. 18, 1875 Judge C.A. DeFrance arrved from St. Louis looking in fine health. We learn that he purposes locating again in our town to practice law. We welcome the Judge back. Jan. 15, 1876 DIED: Little Lillie Bell son of Dr. W.D. and Mrs. F.R. Bell departed this life the 10th of Oct, 1875, aged 5 years 8 months. Jan. 22, 1876 The following notice of the demise of Pearce Nolan has been sent us from Shelbyville, Ky. with the rquest we publish it. The relatives of the deseased live in Madison Parish. "Died on Friday evening, Jan. 7, 1876, at his residencenear Shelbyville, Mr. Pearce Noland, formerly of Warren, County Miss. about 37 years of age. DIED: Mr. R.M. Seanlan died last week at his residence near Goodrich's Landing. He leaves a wife and children. Feb. 12, 1876 MARRIED: On the 26th of Jan. 1876 at the residence of the brides mother in Hazelhurst, Miss. by the Rev. J.W. Weems, M. Shelby Powell of Lake Providence to Miss Orah Lloyd. Feb. 26, 1876 MARRIED: On the 17th by the Rev. T.J. Sage; Mr. W.E. Carnaham to Miss Susan Brooks Watson all of Carroll Parish. DIED: On the 21st of Feb. 1876, at 6:00 o'clock, at his mothers residence, No. 63 Lodge Street, Cincinnatti, James E. Burton in his 30th year. He was a black man. He was well though of. March 4, 1876 Last Thrusdday an accident on Gen. W.L. McLillan's place above town, a Mr. Buck was killed by a tree being cut down. He was the brother of Mr. F.M. Hooper.
