Black. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. R.T. Everett Jr., who is employed at Tallulah, spent several days last week with home folks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Gladys Hearne visited relatives in Grayson last Saturday and Sunday. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Miss Lottie Lee Waller, who is a teacher at Bastrop, spent the week- end at home. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Out of town relatives attending the funeral of Mr. Gabe Jones of this place were: Mr. Henry Jones of Post, Texas; Mrs. O.P. Wallace, St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. George Mooney of Seminary, Miss.;Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Muse, Greenwood, Miss.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Everett, Braxton, Miss.; and Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Everett, Braxton, Miss. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. M. Butler, who has been spending the winter in Trinidad, Texas with one of her daughters, returned Tuesday to spend a while with her daughter, Mrs. R.A. Everett. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- The Fidelis S.S. Class met Friday night for a combined business and social meeting at the home of the teacher, Miss Blanch Shivers. The members of the class present were: Martha Patrick, Bessie Everett, Lola Womack, Ina Womack, Bessie M. Davis, Ola O'Steen, Vera Womack, Audra Smith, Berta Womack and Marie Everett. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. J.J. Robinson of Atlanta, Ga., who has been spending several weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Avery, returned home last Monday. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Everett, son Billy Freeman and Mrs. M. Butler left Wednesday for Braxton, Miss. to attend the funeral of Mrs. Clarence Everett. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. E.C. Holmes left Wednesdday for Street's Sanitarium, Vicksburg for treatment. He was accompanied by his wife and brother, H.W. Holmes. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Watkins of San Angelo, Texas spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Everett. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SCHOOL BUS AND CAR HAVE COLLISION ON FOREST MAIN STREET A Marmon car driven by Miss Elma Campbell of Oak Grove, according to W.R. Lee, owner of the car, was badly wrecked Tuesday afternoon on the main street of Forest, when it and a school bus, crowded with school children, driven by W.A. Edwards, collided. The bus was coming off a side street leading from the Forest school and the car of Miss Campbell was coming north on the highway enroute to Oak Grove when they met. The school bus enroute to the Green community, received damages to its front springs and bumper. Those in the car with Miss Campbell were, a sister, Miss Alva Campbell and daughter Nina. Stathem and baby, Esta Claire of Shreveport are visiting in the home of Mrs. Stathem's parent's, Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Ragus. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- FOREST NEWS One of the happiest occasions of Forest was the family reunion of J.S. and Mildred Annie Crowe's children which was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Waller on Thrusdday July 24. Those attending the reunion were Mr. and Mr. J.W. Waller and son John Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Drune(Drane?) and family of Forest, Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Parkman of Eudora, Ark; Mr. Tom Crowe and daughter Miss Mildred Crowe of Shreveport; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Crowe of Houston, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. ReubenCrowe and little son of Forest; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Crowe and family of Forest; Mrs. Mary Crowe of Oak Grove and daughter, Miss Emma Lee Crowe of Shreveport; and Miss Eunice Stewart of Forest. The morning was spent in visiting with each member chatting gaily of olden times. Some old time pictures were brought out and each one had a good laugh at these. Lunch was served on a beautiful decorated table on the porch, above which was hung a portrait of the parents, J.S. and Mildred Annie Crowe. The family gathered areound the table and after grace was said the family was led in prayer by Mr. Tom Crowe. This prayer will remain long in the hearts of those who heard it because of its deep spiritual feeling. After lunch was finished everyone remained seated around the table while Miss Mildred Crowe played beautifully on the piano, "God Be With You". The afternoon was spent in making pictures of the various family groups and in visiting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harris, of Mt. Olive, Miss. spent Saturday and Sundday with Mrs. Harris' sister, Mrs. Claud Curtis. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Robinson, of Lakeland, Fla. visited Mrs. Robinson's parents Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Avery. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Miss Eunice Stewart is visiting her sister, Mrs. R.L.
