Richland  Beacon News December 25, 1885
We were sorry to hear of the death of our esteemed friend, P.W. DeFrance and 
his wife at Floyd. We learned that Mrs. DeFrance was buried on Friday the 27th 
ult. and that Park W. DeFrance was buried on last Sunday.  Mr. DeFrance was an 
old and respected citizen, was also the Clerk of the Court of Carroll Parish 
for several terms and has been serving as Deputy Clerk for some time past in 
West Carroll. He was consistence member of the Methodist Church.
