All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** LEASE OF PUBLIC FERRIES Notice is hereby given that the following named ferries, in and for the Parish of Carroll, will be leeased to the highest bidderfor a term of twelve months from the 4th day of September A.D. 1866. Sealed pro- posals will be recieved by the undersigned at the courthouse, in Floyd, on said 4th of September, 1866, for each ferry separtately. And the parties to whom the said Ferries are awarded, will be required to give bond and approved security on the spot, and to pay one-fourth of their bids in cash, and the remainder quarterly. The Ferry across Bayou Tensas near the Bosworth Place, on Lake Providence Purvis' Ferry across Bayou Macon Lesters Ferry across Bayou Macon Jacksons Ferry across Bayou Macon Floyd Ferry across Bayou Macon Lane's Ferry across Bayou Macon Ashton Road Ferry across Bayou Macon Rush's Ferry on Boeuff River Wallis Ferry on Boeuff River Owen's Ferry on Boeuff River and the Corbin Ferry on Bayou Macon. The lease of the Corbin Ferry to take effect from the first Monday in October next, and to expire the same time of the leases of the other ferries.
