November 22, 1934 Mendenhall, Miss. - Nov. 16 Special Simpson County friends mourned the death of Will R. Ross highly esteemed citizen of this section, who passed away at the home of his father-in-law, Judge W.T. Kennedy, Route 1, on November 10. During his 58 years, Mr. Ross dedicated his efforts to the service of his community and its citizenship. He numbered his friends among all classes. He spent most of his time at home surrounded by the members of his family who were with him at the time of his death. Will T. Ross was born in Simpson County near Mendenhall on June 18, 1876, where he lived until 1912, moving to Oak Grove, La., where he spent the rest of his life until six months before his death. In 1906 he was married to Alto Jane Kennedy, and their Christian home was blessed with three children; Miss Alma Mae Ross and Vernon Ross, of Jackson, and W.E.Ross, of Oak Grove, La. Mr. Ross was a member of the Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon for many years. He was superintendent of the Sunday School when he was taken sick. Funeral services were held at the home of W.T. Kennedy with Brethren G.H. McCullough, C.C. Jones, and D.W. Moulder, officiating. Interment was in the Poplar Springs cemetery.
