March 9, 1939 Funeral Held for Mrs. Margare Elizabeth (Maggie) Lake, well known former resident of near Epps, who died at Baton Rouge, were held at the home of her father near Epps Friday at 2 p.m. The rites were conducted by the Rev. H.W. Ledbetter, pastor of the Pioneer charge of the Methodist church, assisted by the Rev. Lavelle Russell, pastor of the Epps baptist Church. Interment followed in the Midway Cemetery. Mrs. Lake, who was a member of the Epps Methodist Church for 29 years, is survived by her husband, W.N. Lake; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Ragus of Epps; a brother, E.H. Ragus; four sisters Mrs. Libbie Cheek, Mrs. Herbert Glasscock, Mrs. John Starthem and Mrs. Pear Miller; and one son and a daughter.
