May 4, 1939 A.J. Garner 52 year old merchant and farmer of near Darnell suffered a fatal heart attack Sunday at 2 p.m. Funeral servies were conducted at the new Forest Cemetery Monday at 10 a m, with the Rev. Z. T. Sullivan , pastor of the Forest Baptist Church, officiating. The deceased is survived by his wife and one brother, A.A. Garner of Danesville, Ga. He had been a resident of West Carroll parish for seven years, moving here from Arkansas. He was a native of Georgia. At the time of his death he wa engaged in farming and the opertion of a mercantile store one and one-half miles north of Darnell.
