August 19, 1915 Houston Campbell left last Sunday for the State Normal at Natchitoches. Misses Sara, Hattn and"Jim" Herring will attend school at West Point, Miss, this fall. The Iron Mountain has furnished Agent Burnett at Oak Grove with a 5000 gallon tank Miss Pearl Lefevre left Monday for Eudora to spend a few days with her brother and family. Miss Ollie Vining and Oscar Huey, of Pioneer, left Monday for the Louisiana Industrial at Ruston. Miss Nora Wooten, of West Point, Miss., arrived in Floyd last Sunday and is teaching the Floyd school. The Editor began moving his household effects from Pioneer this morning. His home has been rented to Mr. W.A. Hedrick. Walter Bardley and Miss Ethel Cheatham were quietly married at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Castleman Sunday afternoon, Rev. T.B. Reneau, officiating. They are living at the home of Mrs. M.P. Bradley in old Oak Grove. Twenty dollars per ton for cotton seed is being paid here by the Oak Grove buyers, Cotton sold here yesterday for $46.25 per bale or 9/1/4 cent per pound. We understand cottton seed was being sold at other places for $18.00. Why not bring your cotton, etc., to Oak Grove where you will get the best prices. This is the time of the year when we all need cash, but at the same time we believe the motto, " Live and Let Live, " so those who owe The Gazette and cannot spare the cash, we will say that we are disposed to accept anything we can use from the farm, such as corn, syrup, chickens, eggs, wood, butter, hay or any old thing we can eat or feed to our stock. Don't forget us when you come to town. Another Jeweller in O ak Grove Sam Norsworthy came down town last Saturday morning his face all aglow with "that smile that won't come off." He was inquiring for the census taker, stating that the population of Oak Grove had been increased and he desired to have it shown immediately upon the Census report. Sam say it is a most promising 8 pound boy. The mother and son are doing nicely and the attending physican gives the encouraging report, that with proper care Mr. Norsworthy will speedily recover from his "son-stroke." The September term of court convened in regular session Monday morning with Judge John R. McIntosh on the Bench, Sheriff R.J. Herring and Clerk R.F. Cummins at their post. The following grand jury was empanelled; J.W. Dew, Foreman; L.F. Russell, J.J. Minor, A.W. Bivens, J.H. Waller, B.F. Peacock, W.J. May, J.P. Rollinson, C.M. Huey, A.R. Campbell, W.W. Fryday, W.W. Peiler. The jury term will convene on Monday, the 20th. The docket is right.
