West Carroll Gazette-Oak Grove, La. May 30, 1938

  Thomas McCowan, 72, farmer of Fiske Community who moved to West Carroll from 
Morehouse Parish several years ago, died at his home last thursday and was 
buried Friday at Red Wing Cemetery.
  Surviving are his wife; seven children, Jack, Wesley, Willie, C.W., Lesley,
Eash and Lena McCowan, and seven grandchildren.
