West Carroll Gazette August 29, 1913
Spurgeon Pevytoe. aged about 37 years, died at Forest on Monday morning at 
1:00 o'clock of tetanus , cased from getting his left foot badly mashed by a 
hydraulic ram, which he was assisting to put in position in one of the presses 
at the Forest gin on Aug. 16th.  He was buried with Woodman honors in Mann 
Cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, a large concourse of sorrowing 
relatives and friends following the remain to their last resting place.  To 
the bereaved widow and little son, the father and m other, four brothers and 
four sisters, we tender our deepest sympathy.
