West Carroll Gazette-Oak Grove, La. October 18, 1934
Funeral Services was conducted here Tuesday afternoon for Geo. Keopple, 41 a 
former of resident of Oak Grove who died in the veterans' hospital at 
Alexandria, Sunday afternoon.  He had bee ill for a long period.
  Having his home in Newellton at the time of his death, Keoppie's body was 
brought here Monday night.  
  Services were conducted at the Oak Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. M.C. 
Hughes of Forest, assisted by 21 members of the Legion Post, of which the 
deceased was a member during his residence here, in charge of the rites.  
Interment was in the local cemetery.
  A large number of years, associated with his father, Keopple was in the 
sawmill business here.  Seven or eight years ago he moved to Tensas Parish, 
where he resided until his death.
  While in Oak Grove he was married to Miss Eula roberts, daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. Charles Roberts, who with a 10-year-old daughter, Viola Mae, survives him.
  Others of his family are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.A. Keopple , two 
sister, Mrs. Delbert Morgan and Miss Juanita Keopple, and a brother Clarence 
Keopple all of Litle Rock, Ark.
  George Koepple was held in high regard by his many friends through-out this 
section, including his fellow legionnaires, and the United States government.
  A flag which had draped the casket was presented to his wife by the Legion
Members of the Chas. H. Catron post were pall bearers and other members of the 
organization composed a firing squad, a consort for the body and cared for 
deails of the funeral and burial.
