July 3, 1914 Scott L. Fink The entire community of Pioneer was shocked Tueday afternoon when a message came announcing the death of Scot L. Fink, timber man for the Pioneer Cooperage, Co., in the city of St. Louis Monday night. Mr. Fink had suffered with spleen trouble for some time and had recently made several trips to Vicksburg to see Dr. Street. He was called to St. Louis last Thursday on company business, but afer his arrival there found that Mr. Clarkson wanted him to be examined by a specialist, knowing that his condition was serious. Mr. Fink was the most valuable man in the employ of the Pioneer Cooperage Co. and his loss will be greatly felt by this corporation. He came to West Carroll eleven years ago and had been in the company's employ up to the time of his death. He belonged to the Masonic fraternity and was Secretary of Pioneer Lodge No. 340. He carried $3,000 insurance and was about 44 years of age. he leaves a wife and two children to mourn his untimely loss. His widow and children and Mr. Will Threldkeld, her brother, left Tuesday afternoon for Bloomfield, Mo., Mr. Fink's home, where he was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon.
