December 1, 1938 Funeral and burial services for Mrs. B.W. Thompson, 83 who died Saturday about 4:45 p.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.J. Joyce, Sr. in Kilbourne, following a brief illness of pneumonia, were conducted Sunday at 12:30 p.m., from the Joyce residence and continued at a Collinson Cemetery where interment took place at 2 p.m. The Rev. J.A.O. Russell, pastor of the Kilbourne Baptist Church, officiated during the rites, with the Rev. C.K. smith, pastor of the First Methodist Church of West Monroe, saying the closing prayer at the grave. Mrs. Thompson, who only recently celebrated her 83rd birthday, was stricken last Monday night with pneumonia developing Tuesday. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J.J. Joyce,Sr., Mrs. J.T. Pugh, Monroe, and Mrs. C.L. Chennault, Ferriday; four sons, R.P. Thompson, Winnsboro, Dr. J.F. Thompson, Wilmont, Ark; and Walter and Will Thompson of Los Angeles, Calif. 23 grandcildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Pat Chennault, J.J. Joyce, Jr., Toney Janes, Dutch McDowell, J.T. Pugh, and J.J. Joyce Sr. She had been a resident of West Carroll for more than 28 years, moving here from Winnsboro following the death of her husband. She was born in Morehouse Parish.
