January 6, 1938 Final rites were conducted Saturday, Dec 18, for Mrs. Martha Jeanette Harlan, 78, who died the previous day at her home in the Forest Community. Interment was made in Forest Cemetery, with the Rev. Basil Halbert pastor of the Forest and Oak Grove Baptist churches, officiating. Mrs. Harlan, who is survived by five children, three brothers and one sister, was a native of Mississippi. Her mother was the late Mrs. Martha Bell Alexander and her father, the late Joseph Alexander. She was married in 1889 to the late Robert Harlan. Surviving children are: Robert Allen and Edward Harlan and Mrs. R.A. Crow, all of Forest, and Mrs. Lelia Savage, Little Rock. Ark., Brothers: M.P.
