Mr. Black was a retired vocational agriculture teacher. He was a member of the Pioneer United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WW11 and Korea. He continued serving in the Army Reserves and retired as a Lt. Colonel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Xenophen P. Black and Jennie McKnight Black. He is survived by his wife Nettie Bradford Black of Pioneer, Louisiana; son, Robert Thomas Black of Pioneer; daughter, Sylvia Jane Black of Pioneer; brother, R.L. Black of Aberdeen, Mississippi. Pallbearers are Billy Ray Steward, Frankie Jones, Alfred Rawls, Jr., Mack Albritton, Larry Drurey and Jerry Waits.
