ARTHUR DEFEE DIES Funeral and burial rites for Mrs. Arthur Defee, of this community, who died at a Shreveport sanitarium at two o'clock Tuesday morning were conducted at the Beulah cemetery Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock, with the Rev. W.A. Dearman, pastor of the Baptist church, officating. Mrs. Defee, who before her marriage was Miss Viola Thomas, was born and reared in this community. She was an active worker in the Baptist church, of which she was a member, and in all community work, also. For a number of years had been teacher of the primary class in Sunday school and during the past eight years was president of the Women's Missionary Society. Her sunny smile and her place in the church and community will be missed by a wide circle of friends, for she was loved by all who knew her. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Mitchell and Lavern Defee, two brothers, B.W. and J.H. Thomas, and one sister, Mrs. Berry Sanders, all of the Beulah Community. _Mary Birdie Fleming.
